Savory, peppery, perfumed and packed full of the character, the 2015 Rosso della Centa, a 100% varietal Merlot, will keep you coming back to the glass over and over again. Wild strawberries, blackberries, cloves, tobacco and an enriching note of tomato leaf form its alluring bouquet. It’s like pure silk draped across the palate, seamless and elegant, as salty minerals and tart wildberries slowly saturate, leaving a coating of fine tannins. Violet florals and lavender resonate through the long and structured finale; yet for all its power, the 2015 remains remarkably fresh. The warmth of the vintage may make this a bit easier to understand in its youth, but there’s still plenty of balance to allow the Rosso della Centa to excel in the cellar. Beautiful.
