The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Boudots was quite reduced on the nose when I tasted it, more than other 2014s. The palate is underpinned by fine tannin, very structured and with plenty of finesse. I very much like the acidity here and the elegance that even the reduction does not disguise. Long and tender in the mouth, this is a classy Boudots in the making. One of Etienne’s more feminine wines.
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2032
Bright, dark red A touch of reduction to the aromas of black raspberry, leather and roast coffee At once silky and energetic, with savory berry, leather and spice flavors expanding in the middle palate and mounting on the very long finish Despite the wine’s slightly rustic aspect, the finish is vibrant and the tannins quite refined
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2030
