The 2014 Le Carillon d’Angelus is fully matured on the nose. It is agreeable, however, with slightly stewed red fruit, scorched earth, iron rust and savory fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with rustic tannins. There is still presence, but it is fraying at the edges and just misses some delineation and brightness towards the tertiary, fungal finish. Drink soon.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2027
The 2014 Le Carillon d’Angelus has a straightforward bouquet with redcurrant, cranberry and pomegranate aromas, the oak discretely hidden behind the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, not much depth, but it retains satisfying balance on the black olive-tinged finish. Drink over the next four or five years.
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2021
