2013 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Chassagne-Montrachet, Les Ancegnieres 1x375ml

(these early-maturing 85-year-old vines were picked first in 2013): Bright, pale, green-tinged yellow. Riper aromas of fresh apricot and white flowers. Less intense than the Remilly but boasts lovely sucrosite and old-vines creaminess to its supple flavors of pear, pineapple and spearmint. Spreads out horizontally to coat the palate on the lingering finish. Colin describes the Ancegnieres as "a baby Batard," noting that he could pick the fruit even earlier "but that’s not the style of this wine." [Stephen Tanzer, 09/01/2014]
