Tasting Notes

Vinous 93

Medium straw-yellow. Musky aromas of peach, apricot and ginger; more soil-driven and less exotic than the village Puligny. Supple, silky and highly concentrated, offering extremely smooth flavors of stone fruits and flowers. An outstanding 2013 with a very long, pliant back end. Boillot describes this as "the best wine of the cave in 2013." He allowed the wine to settle in cuve for two months, including a month following the fining, "to de-stress the wine," bottling it last December. [Stephen Tanzer, 01/09/2015]

Anticipated maturity: 2020-2027

Robert Parker 91

Tasted blind at the annual â€oeBurgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère has a comparatively straightforward if well-defined bouquet although it does not have the cohesion and complexity of Boillot’s Les Perrières. The palate has a brisk and stony entry. There is plenty of salinity here: strict and precise with quite a punchy sea-influenced finish. It calls out for a plate of fruits de mer that would counterbalance its terseness. Tasted May 2016. [Neal Martin, 09/28/2017]

Anticipated maturity: 2017-2030
