Bright straw. Lively aromas and flavors of fresh citrus fruit and white flowers are complicated by nuances of custard cream, vanilla bean and fresh herbs. Builds nicely in concentration and complexity in the mouth, finishing with lingering bright acidity that does not hide the wine’s underlying opulent mouthfeel. [Ian D’Agata, 01/05/2014]

The Pape-Clement Blanc is a blend of 44% Sauvignon Blanc, 16% Sauvignon Gris, 37% Semillon and 3% Muscadelle. It has a light, slightly grassy bouquet with a touch of cold stone and dried white flowers. The palate is clean and fresh with orange peel on the entry. Nicely balanced with a fine line of acidity, this is taut and very focused on the finish. A more sedate Pape Clement Blanc compared to recent years, but there is nothing wrong with that.
