BOND’s 2013 Matriarch is a rich, powerful wine, the 2013 Matriarch captures all of the intensity of the vintage. Even with all of its up-front fruit, the 2013 is going to need at least a few years for the tannins to soften. Vibrant red cherry, purplish fruit, wild flowers and spice notes infuse the super-expressive finish. This is a fabulous second wine. The flavors are deep, vivid and striking. None of the BOND wines can be called a value, but in 2013 the Matriarch is especially fine. [Antonio Galloni, 12/01/2016]
