2011 Domaine Cecile Tremblay, Vosne-Romanee, Vieilles Vignes 1x750ml

The 2011 Vosne-Romanee Vieilles Vignes is incredibly tightly wound for a village level wine. Today it is the wine’s structure and power that stand out most. There is unusual depth and pedigree in the glass. Hints of mocha, spice and new leather gradually flesh out on the generous yet wound up finish. There is serious tannin here, but also a lot to look forward to. With a few years of bottle age, this is usually a hugely overachieving Burgundy, and my expectation is that will be the case with the 2011 as well. [Antonio Galloni, 03/01/2014]
