2010 Domaine Georges Roumier, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, Les Cras 1x750ml

The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru is a fabulous wine that is going from strength to strength. There are just the first signs of bricking on the rim. The nose offers a cornucopia of red fruit, Earl Grey, hints of scorched earth and Provençal herbs, all constantly changing in the glass. The palate is beautifully balanced, fresh and fine-boned. There is real flesh here, to the point where I wondered whether it could be the 2009! My only question is the longevity of this Chambolle compared to Roumier’s other crus. The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras comes across as delicate and finely knit in this vintage. The hard, firm tannins that are at times present are nowhere to be found. A beautifully expressive, knock-out bouquet melds into a finely knit fabric of red berries. The tannins feel like satin on the caressing finish. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030.
