(a roughly 50/50 blend of 50- and 20-year-old vines): Bright pale yellow. Orange, acacia flower and a smoky suggestion of silex on the nose, along with a hint of resiny oak. Juicy, spicy and energetic, boasting a felicitous balance of sweetness and fresh acidity. Finishes very long and firm-edged. This serious village wine will need a good five years in the cellar. Both the 2010s and 2008s require patience, notes Antoine Jobard.
Jobard’s 2010 Meursault Les Tillets possesses notable depth and roundness, yet never loses its essential minerality. White flowers and slate add dimensions of complexity in a classic expression of Meursault. The Tillets is the most nervous and wiry of Jobard’s village-level wines. Accordingly, it could use another year or two in bottle. This is another fabulous showing from Jobard. Anticipated maturity: 2013+.
