The 2008 Brut Spécial Club is a relatively soft, open-knit wine, especially within the context of the vintage. Although the Spécial Club is attractive, I don’t see the dimension, depth or intensity that are such signatures of the finest wines of the year. The 2008 is 67% Chardonnay and 33% Pinot Noir.
