Bright red-ruby. Pungent red fruit aromas of cherry and raspberry, complicated by a note of coffee. Juicy and intensely flavored but tightly wrapped and much more closed than the Charmes. But this is more aromatic, denser and more impressively structured, with complicating notes of minerals and leather. Finishes with very firm tannins and terrific verve and style.
