Produttori di Barbaresco’s multiple bottlings perennially hit that sweet spot of high ratings and affordability. While the most well-known critics haven’t yet released scores, judging from the high marks the entry-level Nebbiolo itself has received, we think the 2021 Barbaresco is a must-purchase. We are hearing that more than a few critics are considering 2021 one of the greatest, possibly THE greatest Barbaresco vintage of all time:

A bit of history: Produttori is a cooperative founded in 1958 to unite the growers of the region in order to create the best Barbaresco possible. The cooperative is now comprised of 50 small, still-family-run producers whose fruit goes into each vintage. Known for their excellent crus such as Asili, Montestefano, and Pajé among others, the Produttori produces an outstanding “regular” Barbaresco; but rest assured, there is nothing regular about it!
