The Wednesday Offer
Hiding No More: Arnoux, Boisson, Dancer, Shiogai and More!
Hello Collectors,
How often have you heard a producer described as “under the radar”? Today’s offer features producers who have moved well past that stage, and they’re showing up on plenty of radars now. While they may not be as widely known as DRC or Rousseau, many are crafting exceptional wines that deserve a place in your cellar or on your table. Not all of these are meant to be collectible, so for those hunting great values, now’s the time to stock up.
The standout name here is Arnoux, first brought to prominence by Pascal Lachaux and now in the capable hands of his son, Charles Lachaux. Over the past 30 years, they’ve carried on the legacy of Pascal’s father-in-law, Robert Arnoux, and the estate has become far more than a cult favorite. Yes, prices spiked for a time, but they’ve since stabilized, and the wines remain outstanding. From youthful to mature, there’s plenty to explore.
On the collectible side, we also have Prieuré Roch, whose roots were shaped by DRC and Leroy, and whose fan base grows every year. There are small allocations from Japanese sensation Kei Shiogai and from Cécile Tremblay, great-grandniece of Henri Jayer. And don’t miss a final shot at Jean-Marc Bouley, now firmly established as a red wine star of the Côte de Beaune.
For the value seekers, this is a bounty: numerous gems under $100, all packed with character. Camille Thiriet and Didier Fornerol have impressed me time and again, while my newest crush is Cassiopée. In Chablis, both Moreau-Naudet and Vocoret can still be found under $50. And renowned enologist Sylvain Pataille continues to craft spellbinding wines from humble vineyards—at equally humble prices.
