2022 Super Tuscans

2022 was unanimously considered by critics as a resounding success for two of the top Super Tuscans, with Sassicaia and Tignanello receiving critical acclaim from every corner of the wine world. We’ve also secured the 2022 Montevertine IGT (97 VM), an absolute steal at $85! Even with the challenges of above normal warmth and late season rain, all three growers successfully produced gorgeous, balanced wines that are both concentrated and elegant and should serve as touchstone vintages for these houses.

The 2022 Tignanello is lauded as “such a poised wine…all class and refinement” (Antonio Galloni, Vinous), and the 2022 Sassicaia “…reveals a beautiful fruit profile with fresh blackberry, tart cherry and Mediterranean tones of blue rosemary blooms and lavender sachet…silky cleanness of the mouthfeel and the accessible freshness of this vintage… requires patience.” (Monica Larner, Wine Advocate). Galloni heralds the 2022 Montevertine as “a total stunner…uncommon depth and resonance…super-impressive…increasingly the wine for the shrewd consumer to buy.”

Simply put, these 2022 Super Tuscans are must-haves; they offer depth, elegance, and promise decades of graceful aging. We can’t wait to see how these will evolve.
