When Opus One released its maiden vintage, the first case was actually auctioned off, shattering every sales record at the time. The hype was enormous, thanks to the partnership between Napa Valley pioneer Robert Mondavi and Bordeaux magnate Philippe de Rothschild, two of wine’s most recognized faces worldwide. The 2019 harvest was the 41st for Opus One and, even following some legendary vintages, is one of their all-time greatest releases.
