The Jayer Legend Continues
Hello Collectors,
As rich as Burgundy’s history is, only a select few have had profound and lasting impacts on the region. One of the most influential and revered of those figures is Henri Jayer. His legacy as a trailblazer is secure, having made some of modern Burgundy’s most sought-after and talked about wines, as well as paving the way for following generations’ greatest names, such as Méo-Camuzet, nephew Emmanuel Rouget—and a certain wunderkind grand-niece.
Cecile Tremblay’s family name has always raised eyebrows with its clout, almost like being a Coppola in Hollywood. But while that may have helped early on, the real test of success for any small family producer in Burgundy is what’s in the bottle. And Tremblay’s interpretations of some of the most vaunted climats in France have achieved cult status entirely on their own merits. Revered all over the world for their purity, elegance, and balance, her wines strike a rare combination that is exactly what top Burgundy collectors seek out.
Today’s offer spans a full decade, of which we’re especially excited to include the newly released 2019s. The 19s are spectacular, showing more depth and complexity than usual (already a high bar), and provide quite a ride once in the glass. Suffice to say, any Burgundy collector should have these wines in their cellar. And if you’re wondering how Tremblay’s wines mature with age, take your pick among the older releases available today—but spoiler alert: they age beautifully.
