Egon Müller’s Magic at Striking Values
Hello Collectors,
For those not familiar with Egon Müller’s wines, they’re singular: varietal benchmarks, transcending appellation. Think Rayas in the Rhône, Soldera in Montalcino, or Monfortino in Barolo. They tower over their peers, justifying their rightful places in auction catalogs, Michelin starred restaurant lists, and some of the most enviable cellars in the world. Of course, especially with such extraordinary quality and limited production, prices on many of Egon Müller’s wines can be high, but thankfully he has two striking values in his portfolio, which both deliver his signature style and are easy on the wallet.
Our first offer is made from several of Müller’s estate vineyards in the Mosel. A wine of immense precision, depth, and balance, the Scharzhof QbA is a blend of four different sites. Most producers’ QbA bottlings retail at a fraction of their higher tiers, but alas, they don’t have Müller’s magical touch to bring to an entry level bottle. This wine really encapsulates what the estate’s all about, and is a must-have for any Riesling fan.
Next up is an ever bigger bargain from Müller: 6-packs of a tremendous dry Riesling… from Slovakia! Müller’s been crafting wines there since 2001, and has really found his stride at this estate, with each passing vintage better than the previous. The latest release is a truly incredible effort, perfect for keeping on hand as weather (slowly) begins to warm up. In fact, we made this a 6-pack offer because we’re such believers in this wine, and Château Belá winery as a whole. There are only a few dry Rieslings in the world (such as Keller’s) that can compete with this delicious and exciting white’s QPR. You won’t want to miss this one!
