The Friday List

97+ Pointers!

Hello Collectors,

I hope you’re enjoying some well-deserved summer downtime. In the spirit of keeping things simple so you can get back to it, everything featured today is rated 97 points or higher by Wine Advocate, and perhaps most compelling, nearly two dozen of these are priced at $300 or less. All wines are already in the U.S. at one of our UOVO locations, and nearly all are ready to transfer to your storage (we still recommend holding off on shipping until the weather cools). Pro tip: if you are a Premier level client at UOVO, transfer to your storage is complimentary!

While some may think demand for Bordeaux has softened, we’re seeing quite the opposite. Today’s list reflects renewed interest, with aged vintages of Mouton, Pavie, Léoville Las Cases and La Mission, all offering excellent drinking now or long-term cellaring potential. I particularly love the 2009 Bellevue-Mondotte -we have sold quite a bit already of this “perfectly balanced…wine for the history books” (Robert Parker).

The Burgundy on today’s list is succinct – just prime bottles from Clos de Tart, Engel, and Rousseau.  While we won’t claim to predict the market, but Burgundy that’s here and ready to go seems like a smart play.

Further afield, we’re excited to offer both the 1996 Dom Pérignon Oenothèque and the just-released 2022 Sassicaia, alongside 2 aged vintages of my favorite Aussie: Clarendon Hills Astralis, as well as classic California names: Dominus, Dunn, Opus One, Peter Michael, and a few culty bottles: Hundred Acre, Next of Kyn, Realm, Scarecrow, and more!
