A Friday List Twist
Hello Collectors,
Today’s offer is two sides of the same coin: wines we’ve never offered before, and wines we have… but with twist. We’ve noticed that, even when excited about the prospect of adding a wine to their cellar, some collectors just don’t want to buy on pre-arrival. For our part, we often do a bad job promoting these wines again once they’ve landed at Domaine. So, today’s offer revisits some incredible wines that are now in house, along with our usual fare of new gems you won’t want to miss.
You’ll notice a lot of enticing Burgundy today, led again by a killer new batch of Roulot, but which is also more limited than last week. And seeing how quickly the last batch sold, definitely don’t wait to claim these new Roulot bottlings. We also have a thrilling assortment of Mugnier, from the top to the bottom of their portfolio, including 3 vintages of Musigny and 2 of Amoureuses. Other names, head-turning on their own, combine to create a jaw-dropping Burgundy list: Fourrier, Jacques Carillon, Rousseau, Coche-Dury, Dujac, Bachelet, and more.
We haven’t offered our usual trove of Bordeaux lately, so today we’re highlighting not just great bottles from the Left and Right Banks, but bottles that are ready to open now. The list of prestige drinkers includes Lafite, Montrose, Pavie, Pontet-Canet, Cos, and L’Eglise Client. Moving to the Rhône, Rayas is one of those unicorn producers that is both a Domaine house favorite and a client favorite. We’re lucky to offer you the latest from Rayas, Pignan, and Fonsalette—all of which will sell out today. And rounding out our tour de France are 2 mature vintages of the late Edmond Vatan’s mind-blowing Clos la Néore Sancerre. This postage-stamp estate (a single hectare!) has become synonymous with the appellation’s potential for greatness, and Vatan’s Sauvignon Blancs are regarded as some of the most coveted French white wines.
We close with a bevy of top producers from California, Italy, and Germany. The hometown heroes on parade today include Colgin, Montelena, Abreu, and the long-awaited Greer, whose brilliant wines we raved about to you earlier this year. From Santa Barbara, we have highly limited quantities of the top new releases from Raj Parr’s Domaine de la Côte, which are truly magnificent, and which we ourselves can’t resist buying. Other wines we’re excited to call your attention to include recent releases from Vajra and Burlotto, new value releases from red-hot Nahe producer Emrich-Schönleber, and absolutely brilliant Pinot Noir from Baden superstar Enderle & Moll. If you drink Burgundy and you’re not familiar with E&M, you definitely have to check these out!
