The Friday List - 7/14/2023

Burgundy Spotlight

Hello Collectors,

As if the summer weren’t hot enough, we’ve decided to turn up the heat for this offer. Today’s list is extensive, but only covers four producers. These wines are among Burgundy’s best and most sought-after. And better yet, all of today’s selections are direct from their respective importers, so the provenance is perfect.

We begin with some incredibly well priced Clos de la Maréchale from J.F. Mugnier. I’ve been an avid collector of this standout Nuits St. Georges parcel since the 2005 vintage (and even before that, when the vineyard was leased to Faiveley). It has always over delivered, and the 2020 is no exception: a must-have for Burgundy collectors, and one that won’t break the bank. Next, we have an extensive assortment of Marquis d’Angerville that includes both Champans and Clos des Ducs—in bottles, magnums, and incredibly rare 3-liters. Spanning from 2013 to 2020, this is a truly unbelievable collection. You may never see a more thrilling lineup of d’Angerville in a retail offering, so take advantage while you’re able.

We close with an outrageous sampling of Roulot and Comtes Lafon. Run by Meursault patriarchs Jean-Marc Roulot and Dominique Lafon, they are more than just brilliant winemakers. They are dear friends, and inspire not just each other to achieve new viticultural and enological heights, but others as well. Recent vintages from both producers are eye-popping, perfect for both long-time collectors and those looking to experience these legendary wines for the first time.

Also, a PSA. With the summer months upon us, we’ll be reducing our emails to one per week: your beloved Friday List. We’re still here though, so if you need us for anything at all, you can visit the online shop, email us at winesales@domainestorage.com, or call us at 202-987-7565.
