The Friday List - 6/7/2024
Full Throttle
Hello Collectors,
There was an extra twinkle in my eye as I wrote today’s offer. Sure, we have many of the powerhouse names like DRC, Rousseau and Petrus, but today’s offer goes well beyond that, and exciting offers from names that we so rarely see. For those looking for wines to drink now, there is a lot to love here. I haven’t said this in a while, but one look at today’s list will confirm these words: act quickly.
We have some solid OWCs to offer today – three vintages of Bond assortments that contain one bottle each from the five storied vineyards, and multiple sets of each year. Not to be missed is an absolutely pristine OWC of 1996 Latour- a wine that has just begun to show its greatness.
I mentioned some names that you won’t always see in our offers, and Giuseppe Rinaldi is something I could have only dreamed of having today. Spanning six top years, these beauties will be gone in a flash. Also essential is the incredibly rare pairing from Lamy-Caillat, one of the hottest producers in Burgundy. If you miss out on these, consider the Comtes Lafon, Raveneau and Henri Boillot that we have to offer today as well.
There is a wonderful group of aged Bordeaux today, highlighted by six perfectly scored wines. The 1989 Haut Brion is in pristine condition, so today is the day if you have been looking for this magical wine. Burgundy is highlighted by some mature DRC (those RSVs are so well priced!) and the profound 2005 Mugnier Musigny (a rarity with a 99 Burghound score). There is so much going on that I simply cannot wax poetic about them all, but check the list carefully!
