Staggering selections
Hello Collectors,
Once glance at today’s list should make it clear that we burned the midnight oil to bring you the best of the best. This lineup looks like one that would grace the cover of a September auction catalog—but here you can just click and claim, rather than wait, bid, and hope for the best. While the featured wines today might lighten your wallet some, their extraordinary quality brings to mind the old maxim, “You get what you pay for.”
Our headliner this week is none other than Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, arguably the greatest winery in the world. This historic estate has set the bar for Pinot Noir, and their Montrachet is one of the most coveted Chardonnay bottlings on the planet. Today, we have a fantastic assortment for you, spanning 5 bottlings and 7 vintages. Those who’ve had DRC’s Grands Crus will often describe transcendent, almost religious experiences. So, for the unfamiliar collectors: when you look at the famous price tags, understand that you’re paying for not just scarcity and legacy, but also for the magic and inspiration that only the greatest works of art can deliver.
From DRC, we look next door, to other icons of Burgundy. J.F. Mugnier has an incredible array available, including Musigny and Amoureuses. Hudelot-Noëllat shows off an enviable lineup, including both Richebourg and Romanée St. Vivant. Cecile Tremblay—one of the most sought-after small producers in all of France, and who we’ve managed to find and sell over 25 cases of this year—returns with another selection that will surely disappear like the rest. If you haven’t been buying Tremblay, then you’ve been missing out.
Today’s “one and done” offerings are downright thrilling, with bottlings from Arnoux-Lachaux, Bonneau du Martry, Chezeaux, Comte Vogüé, Grivot, Leflaive, Roumier, Cathiard, and Fourrier. You could throw a dart blindfolded at any of these names and come away with a jaw-droppingly great experience (decanting or aging as appropriate). And refusing to be buried under the Burgundian headliners, Bordeaux plays a trump card with 2 six-pack OWCs of Château Pétrus. This truly is one of those offers where, no matter what you add to your collection, you’ll be lucky to have done so. Just don’t hesitate, as all of these producers are among our fastest selling, and we never know when we’ll find more to offer you.
