The Friday List - 3/1/2024

Hitting the Right Notes

Hello Collectors,

I contemplated rewriting the subject line several times before settling on it because, if you notice, all the names hail from Burgundy. As you scroll through the offer, you’ll find a far more diverse and unique Friday List than almost any other. Considering it also covers Bordeaux, Champagne, Italy, and Germany, we truly have a little something for all the Old World wine lovers out there today.

Close followers of the Friday List will understand why I included Bachelet in the title – few Burgundy producers excite me as much. I’ve always believed that his wines punch above their weight class, and today we’re offering 5 vintages of his magical Charmes Chambertin. Following that, we have an equal number of offerings from Ponsot, along with nicely diverse selections from Romanee-Conti, Lafon, Raveneau, and Mugneret Gibourg. Additionally, we have some sensational one-offs from Rousseau and Roulot to cap off a really exciting Burgundy section.

For Bordeaux, I’ve selected the very best without breaking the bank (including 2 perfectly rated wines). Champagne is also exclusively about the top wines, including DP, Taittinger Comtes, and the last of our Ulysse Collin.

Italy’s list is small but mighty, featuring Ornellaia, a pair of vintages from Masseto, and two vintages of Vietti’s magnificent Villero Riserva – one mature, and the other with a perfect score.

We close with a fun assortment of well-priced Germans, including the master himself – Keller!
