The Friday List - 2/9/2024
Bubbles, Burg and Napa
Hello Collectors,
As I mentioned in last week’s Friday List, I want to strive for tighter and more focused lists, and we’re continuing that theme for the second week in a row. Packed with favorites and names we rarely see, today’s offer is sure to generate a lot of excitement.
This week’s list of Napa producers is short and sweet, featuring just two names that always generate considerable excitement. Colgin makes a strong showing with a quartet of 100-pointers, while Hundred Acre offers a terrific selection of eight wines, including another 100-pointer. Burgundy is well-represented by the best, including Coche-Dury, Dujac, Rousseau, and Chevillon (at a tremendous price, too!). I’ve also managed to include a back vintage from Fratelli Alessandria and their incredible Monvigliero from the vaunted 2006 vintage!
The big story of today’s Friday list is Champagne, headlined by four releases of Krug Grand Cuvee plus two vintages, along with more than half a dozen wines from the red hot Ulysse Collin. His fame began in the cellars of Selosse but has since broken out on his own, becoming one of the hottest names in Champagne over the last few years. This is a rare opportunity to acquire these wines! Also worth noting is another reload of 2013 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, possibly our last before prices start to rise. We also have small selections of Dom Perignon and Benoit Marguet (a personal favorite!).
