The Friday List - 11/8/2024
All New, Just for You
Hello Collectors,
November is traditionally an incredibly robust time of year for both buying and selling, and the demand for top wines continues to be exceptionally strong in Q4 2024. Our storage clients are taking advantage of our seamless suite of services by rebalancing their collections, adding new releases as well as trimming down where needed. The end result for you: more great wine to add to your storage or your home cellar! We’ve been lucky over the last few weeks to add a diverse range of exciting new collections to our inventory, and it’s gratifying to witness the dynamic interplay of buying and selling come to fruition throughout the UOVO world. And, as always, all wines are inspected and carefully vetted to meet our exacting standards.
Today’s Friday list is full of the rarest of rare: Coche-Dury leads the charge with a single bottle of the 2016 Corton-Charlemagne – a truly dazzling and monumental wine, Coche’s bottlings can age for decades – I’ve been lucky to have tried vintages from the 90s that are absolutely singing at 25+ years of age. Haut-Brion, Lafite and two 100-point Pétrus vintages represent Bordeaux’s best. Don’t miss the pristine Mascarello magnums in OWC from a long-time friend and repeat consignor as well as the Conterno Cerretta and Arione in magnum; 6 vintages of Harlan, and the ten 100-point bottles! Look for two ground-breaking American wines at opposite ends of the stylistic spectrum: 6 vintages of highly-rated fan favorite Bionic Frog, as well as 6 vintages of Screaming Eagle’s superb second, The Flight. Finally, kudos to whomever snaps up the duo of 100 point Cristal bottlings from one of our top Champagne collectors at these competitive prices – either will make for a thrilling holiday toast.
