The Friday List - 10/27/2023

New and Old

Hello Collectors,

Some Friday Lists are easier to assemble than others. Since our inventory focuses heavily on what collectors are looking for, and since that list in itself is quite vast, it can make paring down to a weekly selection tough at times. Last week’s list was an offering of big names, and was so popular that it made our theme for today a no brainer. We’re back with even more of wine’s biggest names, both new arrivals and some choice revisits.

For me personally, I’m excited to see a good amount of Barolo today, headlined by a bounty of highly rated, lower priced 2019s. These are gorgeous wines already, and with bright futures ahead of them. We’re also thrilled to offer Vietti’s 100-point Villero Riserva, which we fully expect to disappear immediately. You also won’t want to miss several other rarities, like 2014s from PYCM, and a variety of well-rated—and even well-aged—Burgundy, Bordeaux, and California wines, all from top producers.

We’re also lucky to feature solid selections from two California icons that we scarcely come across: Rochioli and Saxum. In addition to the crowd favorites and high scorers, some of the Rochioli is rarely seen at retail, so we’re especially happy to offer you this parcel today. Pierre Péters grants you a golden opportunity to see how top-tier grower Champagne ages, going all the way back to the 1999 vintage. And we close with delicious, approachable 2018s from Raveneau. It’s not often Chablis sees a vintage that delivers both early drinking and age-worthiness—especially at the highest levels—but these wines thread the needle, and must be tasted to be believed.
