Thrilling Finish:
Billecart-Salmon, Cristal, Duroche, Pegau, Selosse and more!
Hello Collectors,
A couple of weeks back, I teased a second Champagne offer – and here we are! A bit of a contrast to the last one, this is the perfect mix of great producers on both sides – big houses and exceptional growers – spanning so many of the best vintages that it’s hard to know where to turn. We’ve also sprinkled in an interesting mix of other new arrivals, making for a particularly exciting and unique Friday List.
The highlights are serious, starting with a vertical of Cristal dating back to 1996, including the Rosé. There’s plenty of Selosse, with the ultra-rare vintage bottling taking center stage. Both versions of the 2008 Taittinger Comtes are on offer, along with a nice stretch of Billecart-Salmon and a terrific pair of Bollinger La Grande Année. And there’s plenty more, including Dom Pérignon, Krug, Rare, and Salon – and we still haven’t covered them all!
The grower selection is equally impressive, headlined by none other than Jacques Selosse, with wines spanning much of the lineup. There’s the ever-elusive and highly sought-after 2012 Egly-Ouriet vintage Champagne, along with a smashing pair from Pierre Péters. We close with two disgorgements of Michel Fallon, who trained under Selosse. If you don’t know these wines, make sure you grab some today!
We round out the offer with a great selection of Rhône wines and other fine offerings from across France. Beaucastel, Duroché, Huet, Lamy-Caillat, and Pégau lead the way, with plenty of hidden gems still to discover!
