First (and Last) Call:
Arnoux-Lachaux, Bryant, Chave, DRC, Petrus + New Cults
Hello Collectors,
This week’s Friday List leans into wines we rarely have the opportunity to offer, either because they’re quietly held back by collectors or because small production simply doesn’t allow for much movement. It’s always been the toughest part of this job – trying to get a Burgundy collector to part with bottles like these! I don’t blame them, and when these bottles surface in proper condition and provenance, we take notice.
Arnoux-Lachaux makes a rare appearance with Clos de Vougeot and Aux Reignots, wines that continue to redefine the estate’s exciting, modern era under Charles Lachaux while remaining grounded in Vosne’s finest terroirs. These are not wines we see often, and even less often in such singular examples. The list continues with ideal-provenance, reference-point bottles from DRC (don’t miss the multiple vintages of La Tâche), Rousseau, Coche-Dury, Lafon, d’Angerville, Méo-Camuzet and Roulot.
At the top end of Bordeaux, mature Pétrus with top provenance anchors the list with pristine bottles from 1989 and 1990. Both vintages are drinking at a level that reminds you why the wine still occupies its own category, and don’t miss a few long-lived Napa benchmarks from Abreu, and Bryant Family, as well as “quiet cult” Beta’s restrained, classic high-elevation Cabernets.
We’ve also once again included Chave Hermitage across multiple vintages, Giacomo Conterno Monfortino, and to balance the heavy-hitters – a small handful of appealing rising stars chosen simply because they’re distinctive and honest (and well-priced for being in high demand!), from culty Borgo del Tiglio to Stéphane Bernaudeau’s newest parcel of dry Chenin Blanc – the electric Les Coqueries, Also from Borgo del Tiglio, don’t miss the flagship Rosso Centa – one of the first great breakout reds of the Collio and made only in the best vintages.
We are currently seeking wines to sell, particularly these: Screaming Eagle in quantity, DRC magnums, Leroy and d’Auvenay, Mugneret Gibourg, Domaine Leflaive, Ramonet, and Coche Dury. Please reach out if you are interested in selling. We provide an attractive, transparent selling process and would love to hear from you if you have these wines.
