Blue Chip Odds & Ends
Hello Collectors,
If you’re a wine nerd like us, you also think it’s fun to comb through store inventories to see what gems might be hiding. Well, sometimes we do that with our own stock. And sometimes, we find some of those gems that just feel good being grouped together. Hence today’s list, showcasing some of our most exciting inventory in one place. Short and sweet, we wanted to wow you in a timely fashion, so you can get back to your regularly scheduled Sunday programming.
While quantities are small today, we’re excited to offer nearly a case of young Dujac. This legendary estate has been on an incredible upward trend lately, and if our sales are any indication, it’s gaining quite a lot of new followers. And speaking of legends and favorites, we’ve got a stellar (if small) selection of blue chips from around Burgundy, including Roumier, Raveneau, Leflaive, and Coche-Dury. Both Bruno Clair and Sylvain Cathiard are on their way to a similar status, and their wines are becoming harder to find every year as a result, so definitely don’t pass them up today if you’re even slightly interested. And as if those weren’t enough, we’ve got some classic Premier Cru bottlings from Drouhin, Lafarge, and d’Angerville.
We close with a sampling of some of Bordeaux’s best, most notably the legendary 2001 Yquem in half bottles. A stunner from release, this is unquestionably an all-time Yquem, and thus one of the all-time great dessert wines. They’re becoming increasingly hard to find (especially at fair prices), so don’t hesitate to claim these today, the last of our direct import from Bordeaux. As if that weren’t enough, don’t miss out on the newly released 2020 Yquem (not yet rated). While we’re selling them as loose bottles, we imported them as 3-pack OWCs, so if you want to keep them in wood, buy them in increments of 3 and add a note to your order.
Also from the LVMH family is a bottle of late-release 2012 Cheval Blanc. Finally, we have four bottles of the Left Bank’s 2019 Wine of the Vintage: La Mission Haut-Brion. This is a wine of extraordinary character and poise, and is well set up to become an all-time great from the estate.
