Burgundy New Releases
High Scores & Low Prices
Hello Collectors,
Jean-Marc Pavelot’s wines are known for their supreme elegance and terroir expression, the seamless blending of traditional and modern viticulture and vinification and are considered the best that Savigny-lès-Beaune has to offer. Old vines are par for the course here, with about half of the flagship La Dominode as well as aux Gravains coming from vines approaching 90 years old. Transitioning to all organic by the 2024 vintage and consistently low-intervention practices are key to preserving the high standards year after successful year.
The 2022s have received wide acclaim from the major critics, and the La Dominode was rated an incredible 94 by Burghound. Other greats from the Domaine include Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes (92 BH), and a trio of his masterful Savigny-lès-Beaune: aux Gravains (93 BH), les Guettes (91 BH) and les Lavières (92 BH). Production is tiny, with fewer than 800ish cases of each vineyard produced. These are scores normally reserved for wines well north of these prices – it’s easy to argue these may be the best buys in Burgundy right now!
If you have been waiting for Burgundy that’s accessible but age worthy, and at an amazing price, we wholeheartedly recommend Pavelot’s wines. Finding exceptional Burgundy truly is rare, especially with so many selections under $100. If you are a Burgundy lover looking for sharp pricing, now is the time to get back in the game!
