It’s Barolo Season: Icons In-Stock Now

Hello Collectors,

It’s almost the end NFL week one (!), and with autumn already in the air it feels like the perfect time to stock up on Barolo (and the rest of our Italians) because they age beautifully, pair effortlessly with braised and savory dishes, and continue to deliver some of the best value in the fine wine world.  All of these are in-stock and ready to transfer to your storage or ship.

Today’s starting eleven is especially strong with a selection of aged bottles and legends spanning every style and generation. Bartolo Mascarello is here in force, with vintages from 2006 through 2018, offering a rare chance to drink across decades. Giacomo Conterno delivers both Barolo and Barbera from Cerretta, benchmark wines that show his unmatched precision. Massolino’s 2014 Vigna Rionda is “off-the-charts great” (VM), Giuseppe Mascarello’s 2003 Monprivato Riserva Ca d’Morissio is one of the crown jewels of Barolo (and at an unbeatable price), traditionalist Giuseppe Rinaldi’s soulful 2008 Ravera is squarely in its drinking era, and the fully ready Voerzio’s Capalot Riserva 2001 (bottled only in magnums) is our prime contender for an epic victory celebration.

Bruno Giacosa’s 2004 Barbaresco Santo Stefano reminds us why he remains one of Italy’s most revered names, and Vietti shines across multiple crus, from Ravera to Brunate to Cerequio, Sandrone’s 2007 Cannubi Boschis shows his trademark balance of richness and finesse, and we’ve got 4 highly rated selections all under $60, perfect for stocking up by the case: Penna Currado’s  Barbera D’Alba Carra, Poderi Colla’s Dardi le Rose and Roncaglie, and Busso’s Barbaresco Bricco Mondino.

Beyond Piedmont, we’ve also secured 2022 Sassicaia, already generating MVP buzz, alongside 2020 and 2022 Tignanello. So as week one wraps up, consider this your game plan for the season ahead.
