Aging Gracefully
Hello Collectors,
When it comes to value right now, nothing beats Bordeaux. Because of our relationships with our storage clients throughout the UOVO ecosystem as well as some selective additions from our top European sources, we regularly bring you a choice selection of aged vintages, all at competitive prices.
Perhaps most importantly, we can’t emphasize enough how thoroughly we vet the wines we sell. We take the time to establish long-term partnerships with our storage clients, providing advice and long-term collecting strategies, and we make sure we are here when it comes time to sell or rebalance. The best part – as a buyer, you get to directly benefit from our long-established relationships and gain access to the world’s top wines – which leads me to today’s offer!
A couple of stars which also happen to be personal favorites: the pristine case of 1996 Latour in original wood from one of the country’s major collectors, and the 1989 Haut-Brion, also with impeccable provenance. The 1996 has so much life and is still so incredibly young, and the 1989 Haut-Brion is one of the most iconic wines of the last half-century. If I had to choose, I’d go with both. Other showstoppers on this list are the 2010 Lafite, 2000 La Mission, and the 3L of 2005 Montrose – still very young especially in this format – and a fantastic and historic vintage.
If you are looking for great prices / high ratings, I’d stock up on 2009 Canon-la-Gaffliere (94 WA), 2009 Domaine de Chevalier (94 WA), 2005 Haut-Bailly (96 VM), 2009 Léoville-Poyferré (98 WA), 2010 Talbot (93 VM), 2010 Troplong Mondot (98 WA), and of course, the incredible 2009 Pontet-Canet (100 VM). As I mentioned a few weeks back, Bordeaux has become my go-to for variety, consistency (the two are not mutually exclusive), and downright drinking pleasure at any price point.
