Superstars and Sleepers

Hello Collectors,

Achieving the rare score of 100 from a major critic is a milestone – it can make the career of an upcoming producer and it can further cement the stellar reputation of a long-established house. We are thrilled to bring you a range of these monumental bottles that represent, alongside some good fortune from nature and terroir, the best a winemaker can achieve. However, you don’t necessarily need a special occasion for these – to lean into a cliché a bit, life is too short to drink anything but the best. We have a wide range of 100 pointers, and we’re throwing in a dazzling collection of 99’ers too.

Highlights from Burgundy include the breathtaking 2020 DRC La Tâche and JF Mugnier’s 2005 Musigny, arguably one of the best Musignys in existence.  From Piedmont, Vietti’s 2009 Villero Riserva is a magnificent achievement –a stunning swan song harking the almost-end of the Currado era; and Elio Grasso’s stellar 2016 Runcot, considered to be one of the greatest Barolos of all time. Three vintages of Pétrus, alongside several first growths and the must-have sleeper 2009 Pontet-Canet round out Bordeaux. We’ve got California classics Dominus and Spottswoode alongside Colgin, Shrader, Scarecrow and Screaming Eagle. Lastly, we recommend stocking up on a case of the 2022 Clos des Papes ($90!)
