Our UOVO Chicago team recently hosted our annual BYO Champagne and fried chicken event – it was a spectacularly gorgeous midsummer night overlooking the river as we shared too many stellar bottles to count! From Brochet to Dom to Suenen, our clients came out to play with some glittering selections. The amazing range of sparklers, great food, conversation and laughter as the sun set reminded us of Champagne’s incredible versatility and ability to convey unbridled joy.

We think this is arguably the most exciting time to collect and drink Champagne, and we realize there is a lot out there, so we source only what we think you will love. Grower Champagnes like Brochet, JM Sélèque and Suenen are leading the charge with an emphasis on pure expressions of place. Pick up a case of Brochet’s flagship bottling, Le Mont Benoit (almost stark, extra brut in this NV iteration), Sélèque’s Soliste Meunier and Meunier Rosé (rich, spicy but with the same emphasis on purity) and be sure to seek out rising star Emilien Feneuil, whose ethereal bottlings and extremely limited production ensure instant cult status.

The greats Moet, Krug, Dom and Cristal shine brightly – don’t miss the extraordinarily rare magnums of 1959 Moet Grand Vintage (disgorged 2020) and 1979 Krug Collection, both with impeccable provenance and in pristine condition, 6 vintages of Dom including the great 2008 for an unbeatable price, and 2 vintages of perennially age-worthy Cristal to buy in quantity and lay down.
