One of the OGs of the Northern Rhone and one of the first to bottle and sell on his own, patriarch Augustus Clape’s dedication to the spirit of traditional Cornas has paved the way for his heirs, Pierre-Marie and Olivier, to seamlessly continue his magnificent legacy.

We are excited to offer you three outstanding vintages – ’18, ’19, and ’20 – of the flagship Cornas. The legendary “La Petite Syrah” clone is the through-line for this great Cornas, a commonality shared with fellow legend Noel Verset (from whom he originally sourced the clone) with the complexity and extreme age-worthiness that 100-year-old vines confer.

Every fan of the Northern Rhone needs a healthy dose of Clape Cornas to lay down for the next decade or three, and the wine is a must for every collector, even if Cornas is not yet a region you’ve actively pursued. Clape’s track record on the secondary market is strong as well – it’s a bonus when the wine you love can appreciate over time.
