Fresh Faces
Hello Collectors,
I’m thrilled to be writing today’s offer. We scored a lot of new wines last week, and we didn’t want to wait until Friday to put these out! Full of exciting Burgundy and some brilliant wines from Piedmont (and a little from Champagne), this is a fantastic way to kick start your week and treat yourself during the holiday season.
This offer has a bevy of great names, but I’ll get those later. I’d like to properly highlight a few of the “under the radar” producers in this offer and kick it off strongly with Penna Currado. For those Barolo lovers, the name Luca Currado should resonate deeply. His time as the owner and winemaker at Vietti propelled him to the top of the list of must-have Barolos. Post sale of the winery, his family has kick-started their own venture, and these are not to be missed! Delicious Barbera and Dolcetto, this project is off to a great start! We follow that up with a pair of Barolo (in magnum!) from Cascina Fontana, who was recently named as winery of the year by Gambero Rosso! They have quietly been making great wines for a long time and are just starting to get the recognition they deserve. The last name not to miss is Eleni & Edouard Vocoret, one of the buzziest names in Chablis! As prices continue to climb in this region, they are holding strong and making delicious Chablis that all the critics are loving.
As we hit the holiday season, we have some serious treats! New releases from d’Angerville, Genot-Boulanger, Mugnernet-Gibourg, Roulot, and Roumier are the staples of this offer, with a good assortment but highly limited quantities. We also scored some more magnums of Raveneau since last Friday’s offer, and some perfectly stored Bartolo Mascarello (2006!) that’s just entering the perfect drinking window.
The only thing not to love in today’s offer is the tiny quantities!
