Big Bottles for the Holidays and Beyond!

Hello Collectors,

It’s the most wonderful time of year – time to open large format bottles or stock up for future celebrations! The family of magnums, double-magnums, jeroboams and other kingly-named sizes are tailor-made for epic festivities, so invite your best friends over to share the experience. Presenting and opening a large format, especially a double magnum or bigger, is a party in itself – arriving with a big bottle in hand, gathering around with the anticipation of popping the cork, and for the very largest formats, encouraging friends to assist with the lifting and pouring! And rest assured, there will be plenty of wine to go around.

And research concurs – wine tastes best when served from a large format bottle – less oxygen in the bottle and less UV exposure to the wine leads to a fresher, more vibrant experience than what a standard bottle can offer. We’ve got a range of selections right now, so stock up now because the holidays are here – or plan ahead and prepare for 2025’s celebrations.

Don’t miss these double-mags: Giacosa’s “totally gorgeous” (WA) 2007 Asili; the epic 100-pointer 2010 Pegau da Capo and the towering 2005 Montrose, which will continue to age for decades. If magnums are more do-able for you, snap up the 2018 and 2019 Hudelot-Noëllat Malconsorts to lay down.

We’ve got a lovely range of California: historic Sean Thackrey, classic Ridge Montebello, a 100 pt Hundred Acre, Schrader Old Sparky, Screaming Eagle, new superstar Kinsman-Eades and Aubert chardonnay; Burgundy from Arnoux, Dujac, Faiveley.  Italian lovers take note – we have so many terrific magnums here – Gaja Sperss from the incredible 2004 vintage, Mascarello’s singular Ca D’Morissio Riserva, Voerzio’s Capalot Riserva (a steal at $300), 2010 & 2019 Conterno Cerretta, and so many more statement-making big bottles for every palate and budget.
