The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanee 1er Cru has a nuanced nose with citrus peel, pressed white flowers, white chalk and a hint of orange blossom. Beautifully controlled, the oak is well integrated. The palate is well-defined with a subtle reduction on the entry, fine acidity, quite sappy and focused towards the tensile finish. Just a hint of grapefruit emerges on the lingering aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2045
